Man Dies After Seeing Girlfriend’s Severe Wrist Video
NEW DELHI: In a shocking incident in the Anand Parbat area of Shahdara, a 30-year-old man, identified as Arun Nanda, collapsed and died after receiving a video of his girlfriend’s severed wrist. Authorities are investigating the case, which has raised concerns about the psychological impact of such distressing content.
The incident unfolded in the early hours of Saturday, following a PCR call at 3:34 AM reporting an unconscious man at Kailash Deepak Hospital. Upon arrival, police learned that Nanda had already been declared dead. Initial findings revealed that his girlfriend, a resident of Jagatpuri, had been admitted to the same hospital after reportedly inflicting a serious injury on herself.
According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Shahdara) Prashant Gautam, the woman shared a video of her injury with Arun via a messaging application. Witnesses suggested that upon viewing the graphic content, Arun fainted, leading to his eventual death. While authorities suspect cardiac arrest may be the cause, a thorough investigation is underway to confirm the circumstances surrounding his passing.
Nanda’s body was transported to Subzi Mandi mortuary for an autopsy, with the viscera preserved for further analysis. Meanwhile, his girlfriend remains hospitalized for treatment. Police have confirmed that no signs of foul play have been detected thus far.
